ABOUT US
We are outdoors enthusiast living and working in south central Pennsylvania. The sport of firearm shooting has been part of our journey since the beginning. We spent our honeymoon at Lake Placid completing a biathlon challenge. Dan has gone on to compete in pistol competitions and become an NRA certified instructor. Katrina routinely joins Dan at the range and together they enjoy coming up with courses and challenges to raise the level of fun.

As we educated ourselves about safe storage and handling, firearm maintenance, precision shooting and the legalese of gun ownership our confidence and competencies have grown.

2020 helped us realize our community was in need of an education resource; one that would welcome students of all levels, provide a safe learning atmosphere and embrace the fun of this sport. We launched Safe Shooting Education November 2020 and look forward to many years educating others on safe shooting.
Coach Dan
Dan is a certified NRA pistol instructor and a certified NRA range safety officer. He is also and avid collector of firearm knowledge. His passion for coaching began while studying exercise science and bio mechanics at Penn State University. His coaching career began as a certified snowboarding instructor and clinician. Over the past 20 years he has coached competitors in cyclocross, bicycle road racing and triathlon.

As an outdoorsman, he understands safety is paramount to an enjoyable experience. A graduate of Pennsylvania's Hunter Safety Course at the age of 12 he enjoyed trap shooting and time on the rifle range early in life. Cut to later in life when he began his education in firearm proficiency it was with a focus on understanding the best and safest way to improve his skills. Competing in USPSA events he is a classified shooter in both production and limited categories. His hope for post-COVID is to use his skills to become a classified revolver shooter and compete at long range precision rim fire and rifle competitions
For Safe Shooting Education Dan has used his knowledge of competitive shooting, body mechanics and learning styles along with 50+ hours of certified instructor training to craft effective firearm classes that are enjoyable for the students while producing positive results in their skills and knowledge of safe firearms use.
